Spurgeon Quote

Posted by Anthony Kirk |

Read this in my devotional this morning:

"No God is like the God my soul desires;
He at whose voice heaven trembles, even he,
Great as he is, knows how to stoop to me."

-Charles Spurgeon

I am thankful for a God who approaches us, who doesn’t remain on his throne but walks in the alleyways and in the crowds among his people. Our God is passionately empathetic.  In Christ, our God was human (of course remaining 100% God).  He wore clothing, had a family, and experienced pain and suffering.   Praise be to God for condescending and being with his creation in order to love us.  My soul desires Him.  My God, who speaks and causes heaven to tremble, kneels by my side and whispers, “Anthony, I know you and love you.”  Thank you Lord for stooping to me every single day.
