PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN AT FPC, JACKSON
Presbyterian Women activities are starting up for the fall and we look forward to an exciting year! Our study this year will be "Confessing the Beatitudes" by Margaret Aymer.
Our next event will be our regular circle meetings on October 10 at 10 AM and 7 PM.
The "Presbyterian Women" (often referred to as PW) is a very active ministry at First Presbyterian.
Five circles meet monthly for prayer, Bible study and fellowship. Presbyterian women have a strong emphasis on service. They provide financial support for local and international projects, but also give of their time and talents. Projects include providing desserts for the Soup Kitchen, providing fruit for the “Church without Walls”, collecting funds for “Fellowship of the Least Coin” for international Christian women’s funds, coordinating volunteers for Christmas “Meals on Wheels”, and working for our annual “Mission Day” where a variety of projects are completed for both local and international concerns.

PURPOSE OF PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN
Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ,
And empowered by the Holy Spirit,
We commit ourselves:
To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
To support the mission of the church worldwide,
To work for justice and peace,
And to build an inclusive, caring community of women
That strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA),
And witnesses to the promise of God's kingdom.
