Sunday School is important for all ages, but we believe that educating our children is essential! Our Sunday school program is an exciting vehicle through which the message of the Gospel is brought to our kids in wonderful and innovating ways!

Meet in Education & Gym Ed Bldg.
2 –4 year olds/Vivian Pauley, teacher/1st Floor Education Building:
With a fun storytelling curriculum our youngest children are learning about characters from the Bible, all about God’s creation, and the teachings of Jesus through singing songs, arts and crafts, and story time.
K-5th grade/Lisa Spurlin, coordinator/2nd floor Education Building
Come to Jerusalem! We are proud to feature the Rotation Sunday School model for our elementary aged kids. The entire floor has been transformed into a street right out of Jerusalem in Biblical times. Children learn about the Bible in 4-5 week workshops rotating through drama, puppets, movies, crafts, storytelling, and even cooking.
Junior High/Jeff Chambers & Lyn Parliment, teachers/Gym/Ed Building
Our middle school class uses a curriculum entitled “Season of the Spirit.” It is a reformed curriculum that follows the lectionary of the worship year.
Confirmation Class:
is offered for sixth graders in January and continues thru the spring. The Presbyterian Church USA curriculum used is “We Believe: Professing our Faith.” This class concludes when the participants publicly affirm their faith on Confirmation Sunday in May.
Senior High/Kevin Pauley and Bob Henry, teachers/Gym Ed Building
In a very informal setting, the high school kids are using a Youth Specialties curriculum that takes them through a series of real life events enabling them to see where the word of God is applicable in their lives.
Nursery/Infants and Toddlers/Katie Pauley and Tamara Haynes/
1st Floor, Education Building:
Each Sunday morning our nursery is staffed with both professional workers and member volunteers. The nursery opens at 9:45 and remains open until the end of Sunday school at 12:15.
We believe that Christian education is essential to our faith at First Presbyterian Church. Towards that end, we offer eight adult Sunday School classes each Sunday morning beginning at 11:15 directly following worship and fellowship time. The following is a listing of the classes, a brief format description and their locations: (click here to see facilities page for location of buildings).
