Program |
| March 17 |
Luke 15:11-32, Psalm 32, and II Corinthians 5:17 & 18
In response to the grumbling Pharisees and scribes, Jesus tells the parable of the Prodigal Son and reveals the true power of God's unconditional love and forgiveness. The psalmist expresses the happiness of God's people when they have been forgiven. Paul describes a repentant life in Christ as being new creations.
MENU: Company Chicken and Gravy, French Country Salad, Dirty Rice, Vegetable Medley, Chess Pie for dessert. |
| March 24 |
John 12:1-8, Isaiah 43:16-21, Philippians 3:4b-14
Judas does not understand why Mary spills an expensive bottle of perfume over the feet of Jesus, and completely misses the point of Jesus' identity and ministry. God is preparing to do a "new thing" through Christ. Because of this "new thing" (Jesus Christ), all of Paul's personal gains, achievements, and accolades, are considered a loss, as he encourages all children of God to "press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus."
MENU: Mexican Night - Tacos, Chicken Fajitas, Garden Salad, Brownie Sundae Bar for dessert. |
| Thursday, April 1 |
Maundy Thursday Worship Service at 6:00 PM
Through scripture, music, and the extinquishing of candles, we will remember the events leading to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The service ends in silence and near total darkness. The service is unfinished and we depart in silence because the end of the story does not occur until Easter, when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord!
MENU: Chicken and Dressing, Spinach Salad, Green Beans, Cucumber and Tomato Salad, Apple Pie for dessert. |
